Kindle

Steps:

So, instead, Kindle uses ‘locations’. Each location in a book is about 25 words or so and is fixed - it won’t vary with font size, etc. That way you can cite part of a Kindle book.

  1. Connect Kindle to your computer through USB cable.
  2. After connecting it, you will see your Kindle as a folder or drive. You can drag and drop the mobi file onto the Documents folder on Kindle drive or folder on computer.
  3. Safely remove the USB cable when activity indicator on kindle stops flashing by selecting “Safely Remove Mass Storage” (Windows PC) or “Eject” (Mac PC).

Now you should be able to read mobi eBook in Kindle Library on your Kindle.

You can find (and change) the location of your books in the general preferences. Simply choose Preferences from the Kindle menu. In the General tab, you can find an entry Content Folder and a button to change it. This works at least on a fresh installation of Kindle from the App Store, running Mountain Lion. With Kindle for Mac, you can see all Kindle books you bought. Right click the book and choose the download option. Then the book will be downloaded to your local folder. Tips: Click 'Kindle' and Choose 'Preferences'. Open the Kindle Fire folder (titled 'Kindle') on your computer, and then open the Internal storage folder. Locate the downloaded file on your computer, and then drag and drop the compatible file you want to transfer into the applicable folder. Turn your phone or tablet into a book with the free Kindle apps for iOS, Android, Mac, and PC. Read anytime, anywhere on your phone, tablet, or computer. Go beyond paper with immersive, built-in features.

Amazon Kindle Store offers users a wide variety of ebooks. As an Apple user, it's not a wise choice that we use Kindle for Mac or Kindle for iOS to read kindle books. Why? The kindle reader doesn't support Apple retina display. The reading experience is still pixelated and too bad for more than a year. And the Kindle app for iOS is slower than iBooks app at the synchronous reading. On the other hand, the iBooks interface is more like a library. And you will feel that the books are really on your bookshelf. So this guide will show how to read DRMed Kindle books in iBooks.

Download Kindle Books to Mac First

If you don't install Kindle for Mac, please download Kindle for Mac and launch it at first. And register it with your Amazon account. Go to 'Archieved Items' in the library of the application software sidebar. And download or sync all your purchased books to the local computer.

Location kindle settings

Where can I find 'My kindle Content' (my downloaded kindle books) on my Mac? Has Amazon hidden the location of these eBooks? Don't worry, go to 'Kindle'->'Preference'->'Content Folder' in the main menu. On my iMac, the location of Kindle books is .../Users/epubor/Library/Application Support/Kindle/My Kindle Content/.

Convert kindle books to Apple ePub or PDF

How to read protected kindle books on iBooks? It seems impossible that we can get protected Kindle books into iBooks. Firstly, mostly purchased Kindle books (.azw4, .prc, .azw3, etc) are protected from DRM. Secondly, the Amazon kindle main formats are MOBI and AZW. But iBooks doesn't all support these formats except for epub. At last, how to deal with my notes/highlights on my kindle books? No need to worry, they are stored at: https://kindle.amazon.com/. From the page, you can copy/past your notes into a text file.

The Epubor Ulitmate can convert any eBooks including DRMed eBooks to iBooks format. So we can keep all converted books in the cloud. For example, we can put them in dropbox for an access with ease.
