The 7-Speed M BMW Double-Clutch Transmission (DCT) was first introduced on November 1st, 2008 by BMW M Gmbh. BMW was the world’s first car maker to propose the 7-Speed DCT gearbox for the M division. It ensures optimal gearshift, provides more dynamic acceleration and reduces fuel consumption. Sporty driving characteristics at the highest level: Genuine Original BMW Automatic Transmissions always use state of-the-art technology and have an optimum spread of gear ratios to offer a convincing display of acceleration. They have a higher starting torque than manual gearboxes.

xHP is the world’s first complete all-in-1 tuning solution for the ZF 6HP or 8HP automatic transmission or the 7DCT dual clutch transmission in your BMW! BMW Tweaks was involved early in the development of this product in the development of the tuning maps for xHP.

xHP Flashtool gives you the possibility to fully adjust the automatic transmission to your wishes. xHP transforms your machine and gives you a whole new driving experience. Tuning tuning is not just about getting faster or more power. An automatic transmission is closely involved in vehicle dynamics and contributes greatly to the overall driving experience.
From crawling in traffic and city rides to taking your BMW to the drag strip or a race track, the TCU (transmission computer) hugely determines how your car feels. Just as everyone drives differently with a manual transmission, the xHP tunes take care of the actions to tune the automatic transmission to your personal preferences. Bmw Transmission Repair

Stage 1
The Stage 1 setup is made for the sporty, yet economy aware driver. The setup makes use of the massive low-end torque of the 3.0 Litre Turbo engine and let’s you cruise around well below 2000 rpm in D mode. A switch to S/M mode transforms the transmission and gives you shorter shift times + rev-matching downshifts without sacrificing comfort. Torque limiters are raised to 600 Nm (442 ft.lb) in every gear to accomodate the potential of tuned engines. This setup is based on the well known Alpina configuration.

Stage 2
The Stage 2 Setup is made for people wanting the most from their transmission on street use. The revised Torque Converter setup provides snap-on take-off feeling at every junction, the cut-shift times in D/S/M modes wash away the sluggish shift feeling, BMW has implemented in these transmissions. The Sport Setup is also the Map of choice for people with tuned engines. The raised TQ Limiters allow up to 700 Nm (516 ft.lb.) of Torque in every gear.

Stage 3
The Stage 3 cal raises the bar in every aspect. In D mode only slightly firmer to the Stage 2 Cal, a switch to S or M mode transforms your transmission. Shift times are cut to a minimum and sacrifice shift comfort in favor of pure speed. On downshifts you will experience instant and very audible rev-matching. The Race cal offers a true Manual mode for the first time in non BMW – M vehicles. Instead of forced upshift, you will hit the engine rev-limiter like in a manual car. Torque Limiters are upped to 1000 Nm (737 ft.lb) , to leave room for advanced engine tuning. Line Pressures have been increased where necessary, to lift the maximum TQ capacity of the 6HP21. If you drift your vehicle, visit race tracks, or just love being in control, this is the map of choice.

Stage 4
The xHP Track Setup lets you fully concentrate on your driving, while the transmission does the rest. Shift your lever to S and let your car shift fully on it’s own during your trackday! Your transmission will shift, just like an experienced driver would do it! This makes driving on race tracks safer for beginners and even helps advanced drivers to shave of a few thenths of their best lap-time! This map is for driving on race tracks ONLY! D and M mode will behave similar to Stage 3, while S mode is not useable for street driving. Stage 4 is available for a very few BMW-cars.

– Display gear in dash in D / S / M mode
– Optimized shift points in Drive for better acceleration in partial and full load situations
– Shift down early with heavy braking in D mode
– Up to 20% faster switching times in D mode
– Up to 60% faster switching times in M mode
– Optimized heating behavior (faster transmission heating, smoother switching)
